Groups of active citizens in Stroud, Gloucestershire, organise regular events with prominent speakers, one group maintaining a street stall on Stroud’s High Street most Fridays and Saturdays, weather permitting, with literature, books and newspapers. This has had a significant positive impact in Stroud, giving a voice to free and open dialogue and debate on prominent issues, instead of the WOKE clamp-down culture which otherwise tends to prevail. It’s not without its objectors, but then… that’s part of a democratic society!
