On Friday, 13th January, 2023 BBC TV interviewed cardiologist Dr Aseem Malhotra about the use of statins for coronary artery diseases, but he not only surprised the interviewer by recommending against use of statins for moderate risk patients but went on to name Covid vaccines as a potential cause in current heart problems and the high number of excess deaths, many of which have died from heart complications.
In a classic fluster, where one scrambles to first try to erase records (the BBC facebook posting on it was promptly deleted), they then went on to ‘damage limitation’, calling up their specialists (paid no doubt handsomely) to ‘debunk’ the ‘misinformation’ that Dr Malhotra was giving. After all, Malhotra is only an award-winning cardiac specialist, has treated thousands of cardiac patients — why should one pay attention to him? Just full of “dangerous” opinions, which he must have gotten from some far right extremists. Can’t be scientific if it disagrees with the official factcheckers, can it.
The Guardian promptly reported the same day that “experts” have criticised Malhotra (we can be excused for thinking that Malhotra, up until this moment where he challenged the set view, was an expert), “accusing him of pushing ‘extreme fringe’ views, which are ‘misguided’, ‘dangerous’ and could mislead the public.” How dare experts disagree! Experts, after all, must all be unanimous. And if experts criticise Malhotra, then Malhotra must not be an expert?
So the dirt is being collected for throwing. The Guardian even interviews a pure-blood cardiologist to claim that Malhotra isn’t really a cardiologist, out just for self interests. Why else would he recommend lower risk heart patients rather alter their diets than take statins? Such preposterous nonsense — nobody benefits from that (err – financially we mean, which is what is important, isn’t it). He obviously must be a “statin denier” just like that other dangerous doctor, Malcolm Kendrick, accused of “deadly propaganda” that “endangers lives”, who dared to write the book, The Great Cholesterol Con. Need to be written off! That’s that.
The Guardian obviously forgot about their earlier investigations on NICE (the ones promoting now greater use of statins) having pharmaceutical connections and other financial interests, even written by Mahotra himself. It was OK for media to criticise Bigpharma then — reports abounded. Let’s let time erase memories, though. That’s OK. Pharmaceutical connections are now OK. They are our saviours, after all, only selflessly out for our health and benefit (please ignore any other misinforming reports to the contrary).
So, be warned: the video, produced below, is “dangerous” stuff. It might introduce “misguided” ideas for you which you should not even bother to think about — why should you think when the ‘factcheckers’ are there to think for you (Reuters fact checkers with Bigpharma connections, who naturally know better) — including his claim that the vaccines were the cause for his father’s death. Such views, and that vaccines are now a greater threat than the virus (Omicron, he claimed, was no worse than a normal flu), have been “repeatedly debunked by factcheckers”. Phew! So you need look or think no further…..
So, this video is truly dangerous. Watch it at your own risk. The BBC has accidentally let the cat out of the bag, and you might be tempted to… think for yourself? Horrors. Factcheckers will be knocking at your door soon. If you are in New Zealand, you may be on the suspected terrorist list, so the factcheckers may be wearing uniforms… You may end up in a “correction” facility in China. All for the greater good. Right?
