“Anti-Restriction Protest with thousands of people on the day when new rules were voted”
Such were the headlines in the Romanian Television news for Bucharest, but nothing of this was reported in the UK – only that the government had fallen and there was political chaos. Not reported was that these protests were actually at the heart of the fall of government: the people were simply not behind the actions of the government to impose new restrictions. Other news banners (translated) coming across the screen read:
“Simion: They tried to buy us: Parliamentarians – we are not for sale”
“Flags, banners, and thousands of angry people in the streets”
In this protest in Constanta, the red banner here states: ‘Freedom without certificates’, with people chanting this and “We don’t want a vaccine”, “We don’t want a certificate” (in Romanian, of course).
