Dear BBC,

This is to inform you that I shall not be renewing my TV licence and have cancelled my Direct Debit.

My opinion of the BBC news service has now reached a new low with today’s headline informing me that
one person has died of the new variant of covid. How ridiculous! How pathetic! This is not news, this is
propaganda. The government is behaving appallingly over this covid crisis, dancing to the tune of financial
interests obvious for anyone to see. The job of journalism is to hold government to account and the public
depends on this vital task. Instead the BBC has turned into a propaganda arm of the government.

In a recent BBC broadcast interview with Dr Hilary he stated that the hospitals are full of unvaccinated
patients. This is a blatant untruth easily verifiable from government statistics, a recent article in The Lancet
and anyone who is personally acquainted with hospital staff. You allow lies like this to be broadcast
unchallenged and as a consequence you spread misinformation, public alarm and division in society. The
vaccinations are not working, this is openly admitted, yet you continue to perpetuate the hysterical
government vaccine propaganda to the exclusion of all and any other sensible advice on treating covid at
home. Both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals are catching this illness yet the only advice the public
has received from the government is to wash hands while singing a song. You are ignoring this travesty of
public health.

Another example of extraordinary bias is your reporting of the recent reversal of the decision of judge
Vanessa Baraitser not to extradite Julian Assange to the U.S. Where is the outrage? Where is the journalism?
If it was Russia that was demanding his extradition do you think the outcome would have been the same?
This is so obviously a political process and a travesty of justice yet you remain silent.

And you expect me to pay for this service? I am certainly prepared to pay for honest and responsible
journalism however this is not what I’m getting from the BBC. It’s so very disappointing. Quite frankly I
have found that exposure to your service is actually making me ill, so for health reasons I will have no
further use for you.

Yours etc,

JS
