Jeffrey Sachs on the War in Ukraine

Ever since the 1950s, wars on all ‘sides’ have been fought on very spurious grounds — usually with some pretext for going to war (Gulf of Tonkin fiasco; weapons of mass destruction, ‘unprovoked aggression’, etc) which often turns out to be a trumped up excuse for more ulterior reasons and intrigues, e.g. to depose an unfavourable regime, to expand borders, to obtain valuable resources not available ‘at home’, to keep soldiers trained with real life war, etc. And last but far from least, for the war machinery and industry to make money. The desire for most is to present it to the public in a way to make it look as if it is for self-defence and survival…

Come to think of it, in reading about history and wars in the middle ages, none of this is really new.

So, WHY ARE WE BUYING THE REASONS GIVEN by most political parties for supporting the war in the UKRAINE? Why are we not probing for further reasons? Where is investigative journalism?

In the absence of this, we present below two interviews with Jeffrey Sachs, which are very informative and sobering, regarding some of the real reasons for the Ukraine war. Who is Jeffrey Sachs? From Wikipedia: he is “an American economist and public policy analyst, professor at Columbia University, where he was former director of The Earth Institute. He is known for his work on sustainable development, economic development, and the fight to end poverty.” For nearly 20 years he was Special Advisor to the UN Secretary General (read more here).

Further corroboration from Robert F Kennedy Jr, speaking about the war in Ukraine and the West’s provocation.
